About Us

Our site vicstandby.com.au was launched on October 12th 2006. It has been developed by Dino Scungio of the Darwin Holiday Shop. Dino has been operating the Darwin Holiday Shop in the Territory for the past six years.

The Darwin Holiday Shop (located within the Saville Park Suites, Darwin) focuses on tours, fishing, accommodation and car hire within Victoria. Prior to this, Dino had seven years experience in the accommodation industry as a manager of the Southgate Motel (Mount Gambier SA).

Passing through in 1997 with a mate and a 4WD, Dino instantly loved the landscapes and experiences that the Territory offered, on day two announcing, "I could live here", and like many current Territorians, decided to stay. His continued passion for exploring the Territory led him to tourism and travel and the eventual creation of vicstandby.

Cyndee Gliddon has been a part of the Darwin Holiday Shop since 1997 and is an expert in providing the right advice for anyone visiting the Territory. Whenever she has the opportunity. Cyndee likes nothing more than to escape to the bush with her husband Ken and daughter Lydia.

Anna Boustead has had broad experience in the tourism industry, having worked as a tour guide in both central Australia and the Top End running various camping, day and luxury tours before jumping on the other side of the desk at vicstandby. Having completed a degree in environmental communication, she is currently studying her Masters of Tropical Environmental Management in Darwin and works with the Marine Coastal Community Network to raise awareness of environmental issues in north Australia. In her spare time she enjoys songwriting, listening to music and watching the sun set over Darwin's magnificent harbour.
